There Is No Complaining Here!
I can’t believe how quickly my days get away from me. It is hectic, I am so busy, but I am not complaining. I couldn’t be happier. On Saturday as I rushed to make it to our inaugural workout in Dayton, I found myself starting to become frustrated about how much I have to do and will I get it all done for the Holidays. Then I pulled into the parking lot by the Dayton Marriott and much to my surprise was 35 “happy and excited to be there” people. Mind you, it was dark and damp, but it didn’t stop even a little boy by the name of Alex (just 11 years old) from showing up to be a part of this. I was reminded once again about how blessed I am to have this opportunity.
I have talked about how important it is to come to the workouts with a “good attitude”. I’ve talked about showing up and just doing your very best. Nothing more and nothing less. We have good days and bad days. How you handle those days is the key to success. But I think one of the most important tools in life is learning not to complain. I was with 35 people on Saturday who get it! They came prepared as best they could, they came to learn and they came to have fun!
Stop complaining. When you complain you are not taking responsibility for your experiences of life. Obstacles are opportunities. Remember that you are here to learn and grow through fitness. Sure, it is going to be cold and dark for a few months, but you control how to react to it. You can create your own misery…or you can create your own sense of growth and wellbeing. This is about an opportunity to stretch your capacity and don’t forget to stretch. You can handle this! Until the next time, be well!
