Heart Mini Marathon-from Linda,
For everyone that has asked me about info for tomorrow, Karen told me this morning that she has your race packets and will be there by 8:30AM. If you have any additional questions, please call Karen @ 513-850-9384.
Terry and I will be there on the course, we will be at 5th and Main Streets downtown. Fleet Feet can also answer any questions you may have, their number is 513-793-8383.
Watch the weather for Cincinnati, it looks like it may get wet while we are out! Dress for the occasion and glide those feet!! You all have done a great job training, relax and enjoy your run and/or walk! HAVE FUN!
See you on the road,
Terry & Linda

ATTENTION! 20 miler for Sat. in Dayton.
Hello all! It looks like it is going to be 42degrees in the morning. From the Channel 2 Weather Radar, it looks like it is going to stay dry until 11:00 AM or so. I think then it is only scattered showers. Glide those feet to keep them dry (and no blisters)!! We are going to have a blast in the morning~come prepared to have some fun!
Don’t forget about the early start times for walkers and run/walkers!
Bring some dry clothes for after the workout so you can enjoy a steak burger or hot dog and some awesome food and music! Now, GET TO BED!!
See you in the morning!
Terry and Linda

Fantastic 20 Miler in Dayton!!
CONGRATULATIONS!! To everyone that came out yesterday for our last “BIG” training workout~GREAT JOB!
The weather was perfect (except for the wind), the workout went well for everyone and the food was awesome!!
We want to thank everyone that brought food, Frank for volunteering to be our official “Chef” and all the help that everyone offered to put it together and take it all apart at the end. And a big “thank you” to Bob Kemphues for doing what he does so well~MASSAGES!
Everyone needs to reach over their shoulder and give themselves a HUGE pat on the back!! This training group has been through sun, rain, wind, snow, ice and sub zero temperatures. Marathon day is going to be a breeze for all of you! You all have displayed great physical and mental endurance over the past 6 months. Pig day is just going to be a good time with a few more miles!! Remember. . . a marathon is just a 10K race with a 20 mile warm up! :~)
For all you walkers and run/walkers~we don’t know how you do it! I think (my personal opinion) what you all do is harder than running! The mental endurance you have is outstanding! GREAT JOB!
FYI~Protein is important right now for all of us. Protein helps to repair muscle tissue after a long workout. It speeds the recovery time not only for the muscle, but it stimulates white blood cells to help shield against upper-respiratory problems.
Runners World magazine has an excellent article about protein in the May issue on page 57, check it out!
I hope to see EVERYONE at Boot Camp on Monday nite, we are going to do mostly yoga and stretching. Come prepared to relax and enjoy after all your hard work!
Once again~congratulations everyone!
Terry and Linda

To everyone that was there on Saturday, YOU ARE AWESOME!! To all the coahes, THANK YOU!
I can’t even believe that I am doing this “running thing” in the first place, let alone keeping up. To all you full marathon runners, I admire you and keep digging! You all can do it! You are strong and have a great determination and you are doing this not only for yourself, but to benefit someone or something you believe in and love.
I feel so privelaged to be able to run and walk with all of you and to have the greatest coaches out there! Thanks for believing in us!

NO PEDICURES before race day!
Please, no picking at toe nails or pedicures before race day! The last think you need is a sore toe at the start line or new skin on the bottom of your feet! You need the tough skin!
Take care of your feet, wear shoes, no flip flops or sandals that may cause any sore spots. Don’t wear any new shoes of any kind before race day.
I know the weather is supposed to warm up this week, but please, try not to walk around bare foot. A bee sting, stone bruise, stubbed toe or cut could change everything for Sunday!
Anyway, early to bed, good food (no junk), low stress and lots of water for the rest of the week. Your muscles can only store glycogen for 48 hours, so you don’t have to eat pasta every day. You’ll just go to the start line feeling puffy, sluggish and having to do number 2!
This is not that different than preparing for our 20 miler, don’t stress about any of it! Stress takes all the fun and excitement out of it. Deep breathing exercises and stretching can help you when you are feeling a little anxious.
Stretching and water are important as well as good diet and sleep~pamper yourself!
If anyone has any issues (new or old) please give one of us coaches a call this week. There are no stupid questions!!
See you tomorrow night for the (easy) workout!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! on the FLYING PIG everyone!! We are all so proud of each and everyone of you! This group has been outstanding!
Each of you not only did the hard training, but you took care of each other. I have never seen such a great display of human kindness! When one of your running buddies got in a tough spot, you stuck together. That is true friendship!
We hope you all have had fun and made some new friends! We certainly have had a great time with everyone!
Take care all and show that medal to everyone!!

Can’t wait to read all about Sheryl Kent’s journey to San Antonio where she will do her first of many marathons. It will be a marathon for herself but most important for others! You make a living by what you get, you make a life by what you give!

Run-Sheryl-Run. It’s me Sheryl Kent and I am hoping my first blog is successful. My decision to train for this marathon is full of firsts- my first time blogging, first time fund raising for an awesome organization-Premiere Community Health Breast Initiative, and this Saturday, I will join the double digit club as I run 10 miles for the first time ever. (Please keep in mind I was the kid that got sick after every Presidential Fitness Test in Phys. Ed. in grade school.)
I am looking forward to completing my first half marathon in Sept. at WPAFB as well as my ultimate goal of a whole marathon in San Antonio in Nov. That’s 26.2 Miles! I will try to blog weekly to keep you up to date with my training. Please remember that early detection saves lives- you can donate directly to Premiere Community Health Breast Initiative through the Miles That Matter web site. Every dollar counts. Save the oobies!! - sk
