We Missed You Last Night
Life was a little crazy yesterday. Both my daughters had their wisdom teeth removed and I was busy trying to take care of them. Good thing I didn’t have time to look at the weather. We missed you last night. Of course, now that I know it was 12 degrees outside, I can understand why a lot you were no shows. I probably would have canceled the workout had I know. But I am so glad that I didn’t.
I was dressed perfectly. My short sleeve, Nike DryFit Lance Armstrong/Live Strong shirt, my son gave me for Christmas went on first. My second choice was a Nike DryFit long sleeve shirt ( I think it has become my favorite for this winter because the color is hot pink). Then I put on my North Face fleece shirt my daughter gave me for Christmas. Finally my very bright and reflective Fleet Feet Lady Distance Classic vest that I won a couple of years ago at this very favorite race of mine. I had some fleece tights on my legs and finished off my wardrobe with a leopard print fleece ear warmer and gloves. I wear them in the winter to remind me not to take life too serious. Go out and have FUN! That’s what I think when I put them on. A little Vaseline on my face…..five miles later….IT WAS PERFECT. The company(my dedicated coaches) and the snow were awesome. I needed it! It allowed me the time to sit back and think of what I want to accomplish in 2008.
I so want a cure for cancer. It was so hard to be with my friends Dean and Lisa. They spent Christmas and New Years at the hospital with their son Chris. Chris is 23 years old and fighting for his life. Please keep him and his family in your thoughts and prayers. Be thankful for each healthy day that you have.
Oh…for you I want a perfect fitness program. Yeah the kind that gets you in shape and helps you shed a few pounds and improves your quality of life. But most importantly, I want this fitness program to show you your purpose and give you the passion to do what you love and dream BIG!
My goals in 2008 for you and me are simple…Worry less, not feel guilty, not try to change what only God can. I want no complaining, no anger because of stress and no fear. Fear is the reason we blame others and always find ourselves comparing each other. It doesn’t matter who you are. What matters, is what you are. I want a fitness program that inspires and invigorates our bodies, minds and spirits. We can do it in 2008. We have set a goal that will take us there. We are participants in life, not spectators. Flying Pig weekend is just around the corner. Let’s go for it! Stay warm and be well.

Sorry I missed the run yesterday. Just wanted to tell you that I loved your message today. Especially your goals for 2008. No complaining, no anger from stress and no fear. It makes me so sad to see people like that, when life is such a blessing, especially a healthy life. And to remember that our actions and behavior are so connected to our health is very important. Every day of health is a gift to be cherished and taken care of, not taken for granted. Thanks again! See you Saturday, (God Willing)
